Plant, Knit, Read

After a rainy Saturday, today is a cool, sunny day.

The soft ground is just right for digging and planting. I didn't get all of the bulbs in the earth, but some of the tulips and all of the narcissi are in the soil. There is still much more to do: beds to tidy and edge, roses to wrangle, and more bulbs to plant. This week.

If it's possible to have a few pleasant aches, then that's what I have now; they're the sort that arise from having enjoyed time outdoors while getting yard work done.

The tools are put away,
a bouquet has been picked,
and all that is called for is . . .

knitting a few rows,

then curling up in the comfy chair to read.

If the novel happens to be set in Florence, which I shared with you here, so much the better.

Sunday. Isn't it grand!

Thank you for visiting.

  2. Karen we are enjoying a cool sunny day here today as well...very nice change after yesterday's all day rain - We have put most of the garden art in the shed and took apart the 2 water features...it's supposed to get very chilly here this week with temps fall into the 30's at night...Glad you could get one last bouquet...my flowers like that have been long gone!! We are thinking of having a bonfire to cook some dinner...one last attempt at summer...

  8. Sounds like a perfect day.. I need to plant a few bulbs as very few came up last year.. wondering now if they were eaten by the critters... Cold and drizzly today but did get a few minutes to get out and take some pictures of the last few leaves hanging on the trees as I head home from church camp.. Now heading to read. Have a great week.

  13. Sounds like my kind of day Karen, except for the knitting. I am thankful for the hot tub we put in about 8 years ago, after a day of gardening my tired muscles are in need of a hot soak.

  20. Your spring garden is going to be that much more fuller, something to look forward to after a long winter. I might have to take up knitting, use to do it in my 20's. Diane
